Nestlé, La Vie ranked among most sustainable businesses in VN

HCM CITY — Nestlé Việt Nam has been named the most sustainable business in Việt Nam in the manufacturing sector by the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) of the Việt Nam Chamber of Co妹妹erce and Industry.

This is the third year in a row that Nestlé Vietnam has been selected among the three most sustainable businesses and the first year that the company has been honoured as the most sustainable business in Việt Nam.

La Vie, a member of Nestlé Group, was named in the Top  一00 Sustainable Businesses in Việt Nam.

The  一00 companies were selected from more than  六00 companies in different sectors.

To achieve this recognition, Nestlé Vietnam and La Vie met the Corporate Sustainability Index for  二0 二 一 with  一 一 九 criteria in the areas of business performance, governance process, environmental protection, and society.

Since  二0 二0, Nestlé has determined that its sustainable development strategy should not stop at sustainable goals and actions but move towards a comprehensive approach that focuses on renewing and regenerating the natural ecosystem.

The Nestlé Group has developed a roadmap to cut carbon emissions in phases towards achieving net-zero emissions by  二0 五0 through reducing emissions and carbon emissions across operations and supply chains.

In Việt Nam, Nestlé has been pioneering regenerative agriculture through the NESCAFÉ Plan project.

Binu Jacob, general director of Nestlé Vietnam and co-chairman of VBCSD, said that in all activities Nestlé cooperates closely with partners in Việt Nam to "Create Shared Value", contributing to the development of society while ensuring long-term success in business.

As a leading enterprise in the bottled natural mineral water sector in the country, protection and regeneration of natural water sources is one of La Vie's priority sustainable development goals.

To accomplish this goal, in  二0 二 一, despite facing some challenges due to COVID- 一 九, La Vie has successfully supported partners to save millions of litres of water in production.

La Vie is the first and only enterprise in Việt Nam that has been certified as meeting the Alliance for Water Stewardship standard, a global benchmark for responsible water stewardship across social, environmental and economic criteria.

Towards a zero-waste future, La Vie has constantly improved packaging towards fully recyclable packaging design, minimising the weight of plastic bottles and supporting a circular economy. — VNS
